Guardianship Program

A guardianship program is a unique arrangement designed to ensure the well-being and responsible breeding of high quality, very select dogs.  This program is initiated between the Breeder and a chosen family.  The program allows the dog to live in a loving, family-oriented environment, while retaining the rights to breed.  The Guardian takes responsibility for caring for the dog as their pet. In return, the Breeder retains breeding rights for a specified number of litters (usually 4-6).  The dog enjoys a stable and nurturing home while the breeder maintains ethical and controlled breeding practices.

The process of becoming a guardian typically involves an application and screening process and a FaceTime interview with the prospective guardian family.  Guardians must meet certain requirements, such as having a securely fenced yard, and the financial means to provide quality nutrition and veterinary care to the dog.  They must agree to be willing to coordinate with the breeder for health checkups, breeding appointments, and whelping arrangements.  All litters are whelped at the Breeders facility, and puppies are retained there until they are sold and go to their forever families.

Once breeding obligations, as agreed, are fulfilled, ownership of the dog is permanently transferred to the guardian and the dog must be spayed/neutered within 3 months of the transfer of ownership.

The breeder provides support, guidance and mentorship over the dog throughout the breeding cycles.  The breeder pays all expenses related to breeding. NO breeder rights are allowed for the Guardian.

The cost of spay/neuter is the responsibility of the Guardian.

The Guardianship program is set up to allow for the best life possible for breeder dogs. At all times the needs of the dog are put before the needs of the Guardian or Breeder.
